The BEST Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Delightful chocolate cookies with a fudgy center and a crinkled, powdered sugar exterior. A nostalgic treat perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until no flour streaks remain.
  5. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough, roll into balls, and then coat in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges look set but centers are slightly soft.
  8. Cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra treat, try adding chocolate chips inside the cookie dough before baking.
