Cheesy Garlic Butter Chicken Bowtie with Mozzarella Cream Sauce

Warm, cheesy, and comforting, this dish features tender chicken in a silky mozzarella cream sauce with bowtie pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lb bowtie pasta
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the skillet, season with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Transfer cooked chicken to a plate and set aside.
  5. Melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter in the same skillet. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 to 60 seconds.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer gently, stirring occasionally.
  7. Whisk in the softened cream cheese until smooth. Stir in mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese until melted and slightly thickened.
  8. Combine the cooked pasta and chicken, tossing gently to coat in the sauce. Heat through for 1 to 2 minutes.
  9. Serve warm, topped with extra mozzarella if desired.

Notes

Great for leftovers; pairs nicely with a green salad. For a smoky finish, stir in more smoked paprika before serving.
