Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa

A cozy comfort food delight featuring layers of pierogi, kielbasa, and gooey cheddar cheese, all cooked to perfection in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 frozen pierogi (preferably potato and cheese)
  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the kielbasa into bite-sized rounds and dice the onion. Gather all other ingredients.
  2. Layer the Casserole: Place half of the frozen pierogi at the bottom of the slow cooker. Layer with half of the sliced kielbasa and half of the diced onions. Repeat these layers.
  3. Spread the Cream Cheese: Spoon dollops of cream cheese over the layered ingredients.
  4. Add Seasonings: Sprinkle garlic powder and black pepper, then pour the chicken broth evenly over the top.
  5. Top with Cheese: Generously sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top layer.
  6. Set the Slow Cooker: Cover and set on low for 4-5 hours, or high for 2-3 hours.
  7. Serve it Up: Stir the casserole gently before serving. Ladle into bowls and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to swap kielbasa for turkey sausage or vegetarian options. Keep an eye on cooking time to avoid mushy pierogi.
