A dreamy comfort food that combines garlic bread and gooey grilled cheese for a warm hug on a plate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough or ciabatta)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz (about 2 cups) of shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Spread garlic butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Lay two slices of bread, buttered side down, in a preheated skillet over medium heat. Add shredded cheese on top, then place the remaining slices, buttered side up, on top.
  4. Grill for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  5. If needed, cover the pan to ensure the cheese melts thoroughly.
  6. Remove from heat, let sit for a minute, then cut and serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to customize the cheese types or add ingredients like tomatoes or bacon for different flavors.
