Pecan Pie Bars

Delightful Pecan Pie Bars offer the flavors of traditional pecan pie in a convenient, handheld form with a gooey filling and crumbly crust.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, and melted butter. Stir until crumbly and press into the bottom of the pan.
  3. Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  6. Pour the pecan filling over the baked crust and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for another 20–25 minutes until set and bubbly around the edges.
  8. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

For a different flavor profile, substitute corn syrup with maple syrup. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
