Delightful Apple Fritter Bites

These Apple Fritter Bites are warm, crispy outside and fluffy inside treat filled with tender apple pieces and hints of cinnamon, perfect for after-school snacks or brunch.

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium apple (peeled and diced)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) or your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Mix in wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg, then pour into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  4. Fold in the apple: Gently incorporate the diced apples into the batter.
  5. Shape and cook: Drop heaping tablespoons of batter onto a lined baking sheet or air fryer basket.
  6. Bake them up: Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool and dust: Let them cool slightly, then dust liberally with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Cool slightly before serving, and best enjoyed warm. Can be paired with caramel sauce or ice cream.
