Baked Pears with Honey & Walnuts

A delightful dessert featuring tender pears baked with honey, walnuts, and blue cheese, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and earthiness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • ½ cup mixed fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
  • ½ cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Fresh thyme sprigs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the halved and cored pears cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Brush each pear with melted butter to give them a beautiful golden finish as they bake.
  4. Bake the pears in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender but still hold their shape. Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the mixed berries over the pears, followed by crumbled blue cheese on top.
  6. Next, sprinkle the chopped walnuts and drizzle honey generously over each pear for added sweetness and crunch.
  7. If desired, garnish with fresh thyme sprigs for a touch of earthiness.
  8. Serve the baked pears warm or at room temperature, and enjoy!

Notes

For a sweeter option, use honey-roasted nuts instead of plain walnuts or swap blue cheese for goat cheese for a different flavor profile.
