Browned Butter Blondies

Deliciously chewy and warm blondies infused with the nutty flavor of browned butter, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy dessert night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it turns a golden brown hue, stirring often, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the warm brown butter and brown sugar. Mix until combined, then add in the eggs and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts into the batter.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan, smoothing the top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let them cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.
