Cheesy Pizza Ravioli Bake

A warm, cheesy bake that combines the delightful flavors of Italian sausage, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese, layered with tender cheese ravioli.

  • 450 grams Italian sausage
  • 700 milliliters marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 200 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 65 grams chopped bacon
  • Pepperoni slices, as desired
  • 710 grams frozen cheese ravioli

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grab a large baking dish.
  2. Begin by dicing the yellow onion and chopping the bacon if it is not pre-chopped.
  3. Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Once hot, add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until it becomes translucent.
  4. Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until browned throughout, draining excess grease if necessary.
  5. Stir in the Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix well to combine.
  6. Pour in the marinara sauce, and add the chopped bacon and desired pepperoni slices. Stir everything together until well combined.
  7. Fold the frozen cheese ravioli into the skillet mixture, ensuring each ravioli is evenly coated.
  8. Transfer the mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top and add extra bacon or pepperoni if desired.
  9. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  10. Remove the foil and place the dish under the broiler for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crisp.
  11. Allow the dish to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy this dish warm for the best taste and texture!

Notes

Consider using spicy Italian sausage for added flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
