Irresistibly Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies

A classic chocolate chip cookie recipe that produces soft, chewy cookies with rich pockets of melted chocolate. Perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the butter and sugar mixture until just blended.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, allowing for about 2 inches of space between each.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set but still soft.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, slightly underbake and store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Freeze cookie dough balls for later use.
