Classic Dirt Cake

A whimsical no-bake dessert combining chocolate pudding and cream cheese with crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, topped with gummy worms for a fun finish.

  • 18 oz Chocolate sandwich cookies (crushed)
  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup Butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups Powdered sugar
  • 16 oz Whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 2 boxes Chocolate pudding mix (3.9 oz each)
  • 4 cups Cold milk
  • Gummy worms (as needed for decoration)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, softened butter, and powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy (about 2-3 minutes).
  2. In another bowl, prepare the chocolate pudding according to the package directions using cold milk. Mix until well combined and slightly thickened.
  3. Gently fold the prepared chocolate pudding into the cream cheese mixture until just combined.
  4. Carefully fold the whipped topping into the pudding and cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated but still light and fluffy.
  5. In a serving dish, layer half of the crushed cookies on the bottom.
  6. Spread half of the cream mixture over the crushed cookies.
  7. Repeat the layering process, ending with a final layer of crushed cookies on top.
  8. Decorate with gummy worms as desired.
  9. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 240 minutes before serving.
  10. Scoop out portions and enjoy.

Notes

Chill for at least 4 hours to allow flavors to meld. Best if made a day in advance.
