Creamy Baked Chicken Mushroom

A comforting dish featuring chicken legs baked in a rich cream of mushroom sauce, perfect for cozy dinners or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken legs
  • 300 grams cream of mushroom soup
  • 120 millilitres whole milk
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and whole milk until smooth, then set aside.
  3. Pat the chicken legs dry with a paper towel, and season them thoroughly with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken legs and sear them on all sides until they are golden brown.
  5. Transfer the seared chicken to a plate and set it aside.
  6. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Arrange the chicken legs in a single layer in a baking dish, distributing the sautéed onions and garlic evenly over the chicken.
  8. Pour the mushroom soup mixture evenly over the chicken and aromatics.
  9. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce is bubbling.
  11. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the finished dish before serving.

Notes

For deeper flavor, consider marinating the chicken in garlic, salt, and paprika for a few hours before preparing. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
