Garlic Butter Chicken

Warm, garlicky, and deeply satisfying, this Garlic Butter Chicken is a weeknight hero that feels special enough for guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, patted dry
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, optional

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5 to 7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked through.
  4. Remove the cooked chicken from the skillet and tent with foil to keep warm.
  5. Reduce the skillet heat to medium, add the butter and minced garlic, and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the garlic butter sauce over each piece, and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Transfer the chicken to serving plates, spoon more garlic butter sauce over the top, and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For even cooking, pound thicker breasts to an even thickness or slice them in half horizontally. Let the skillet get hot before adding chicken to achieve a golden crust.
