Garlic Butter Chicken Broccoli

A bright, comforting weeknight dish featuring tender chicken and crisp-tender broccoli in a savory garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté for 5 to 6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add 1/4 cup water and the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for 2 to 3 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender. Discard excess water.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low, add butter to the pan, melt, then stir in minced garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Add soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes, mixing until combined.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, toss to coat in the sauce, and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Gently fold in the steamed broccoli until evenly coated.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and parsley, if using, and serve warm.

Notes

Pat the chicken dry before seasoning for better browning. Adjust red pepper flakes to your heat tolerance.
