Mozzarella Garlic Butter Chicken Bowties

A comforting dish with bowtie pasta coated in creamy mozzarella sauce and tender chicken, perfect for weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups bowtie pasta (about 8 ounces dry)
  • 1 pound chicken breast, diced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside. Reserve a splash of pasta cooking water if needed.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until hot but not browning before adding the chicken.
  3. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned, about 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 to 60 seconds, watching closely.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
  6. Add the mozzarella cheese, salt, and black pepper; stir until melted and smooth.
  7. Mix in the cooked bowtie pasta, coating it in the sauce, and heat through for a minute.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Use freshly shredded mozzarella for smoother melting. Reserve pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.
