Ground Beef Taco Cabbage Skillet

A hearty one-pan dish combining lean ground beef and cabbage with low-carb taco seasoning and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 g lean ground beef
  • 5 cups (approximately 350 g) green cabbage, shredded or chopped
  • 60 ml low carb taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 60 ml water
  • 150 g cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the lean ground beef.
  2. Cook the beef, breaking it apart with a spoon until there is no pink remaining. Afterward, drain the excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Stir in the shredded cabbage, low carb taco seasoning, dried minced onion, and water.
  4. Continue cooking, stirring regularly, until the cabbage becomes crisp-tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the cabbage and beef mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid.
  6. Cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, consider sautéing some minced garlic with the beef before adding the cabbage and seasoning. This dish is great for meal prep and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
