Italian Chocolate Salami

A decadent no-bake dessert that combines chocolate, cookies, and nuts, resembling a classic salami. Perfect for festive occasions or a delightful afternoon treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 Biscoff cookies or Vanilla Wafers
  • ¾ cup toasted nuts (walnuts, pistachios, or hazelnuts)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Frangelico, Amaretto, Kahlua, or other liqueur (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cookies and nuts: Break the cookies into roughly ½-inch pieces and mix them with the toasted nuts in a large bowl.
  2. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and heavy cream. Heat the mixture in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  3. Combine ingredients: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cookie and nut mixture. Stir everything together until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture: Lay out a piece of plastic wrap on a clean surface. Transfer the chocolate mixture onto it and shape it into a log. Wrap it tightly in the plastic wrap.
  5. Chill: Place the wrapped log in the refrigerator and chill for at least 120 minutes until firm.
  6. Coat with sugar: After chilling, remove the log from the wrap and roll it in powdered sugar, brushing off any excess.
  7. Slice and store: Slice the salami into pieces and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different toasted nuts and add a pinch of sea salt to enhance the chocolate flavor. Can be frozen for longer storage.
