Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie

A rich, glossy, and nut-forward take on the classic Southern pecan pie, featuring a gooey chocolate filling and crunchy pecans.

  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust, ready made or homemade
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Combine in a large bowl the corn syrup, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
  3. Add the semisweet chocolate chips and chopped pecans and stir until evenly distributed.
  4. Fill the prepared pie crust with the mixture and spread it evenly.
  5. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until the center is set and slightly puffed.
  6. Cool completely before slicing to allow the filling to set properly.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs for smoother incorporation. Toasting pecans enhances their flavor.
